How Vestara uses AI

Last updated: September 12, 2026

Vestara uses server-side AI for two things: answering a question in Ask, and writing a paid reading in Destiny. Everything else in the app — your chart, your daily line, Match — is calculated on your phone.

Single turn, no memory

Each Ask is one request and one answer. Vestara does not keep a chat session and does not build memory from your questions. A follow-up on a paid reading is a separate request that references that stored reading and your new question; it is not an open-ended chat history.

The AI never calculates your chart

Your iPhone calculates the chart. The request sends derived factors — placements, aspects, transits — not your birth date, time, or place. The model writes the reading from those factors. It does not calculate a new chart and it does not invent placements. If a factor is missing (for example a house when your birth time is unknown), the reading leaves it out rather than making it up.

Who the provider is

DeepSeek is the upstream AI provider. Its Open Platform Terms of Service (released April 22, 2026, effective April 29, 2026) and Privacy Policy (last updated February 10, 2026) govern how it handles requests. That policy states personal data may be used to train and improve its models, offers a right to opt out of that training (exercised with DeepSeek directly; Vestara cannot switch it on or off for you), and does not publish a retention period specific to API requests. We cannot promise what a provider does on its own systems — which is exactly why your birth date, birth time, and birth place never leave your phone, and why only derived factors and your question text are sent. Keep your birth date, time, and place out of the question itself: the question text is sent as you typed it.

What Vestara does not do

Vestara does not use your questions or readings to train any model of its own. Vestara does not sell them, and does not share them with anyone except the AI provider named above, only as needed to generate your reply. See the Privacy Policy for the full data flow.

Not advice

Astrological readings are for reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, legal, or financial advice.
